Termites can be found all across the United States but are most commonly found in subtropical climates between Southern California and Florida. In Southern California these are the three termites you should be worried about.
Drywood Termites
Drywood termites do not need much moisture or water to survive. They can be found anywhere between a pile of firewood to the rafters in your attic.
Subterranean
Subterranean termites travel between underground and the wood in your home. They will build complex tunnel systems that can reach from the ground to whatever wood they find attractive, up to 15 feet!
Formosan
Formosan termites are an invasive species and are immensely more destructive than their southern california counterparts. Their colony sizes can reach into the millions!
HOW BAD CAN THEY REALLY BE
Here in Southern California we’ve all heard horror stories of exorbitant costs of treatments, and the evils of getting your home fumigated. So here at Wipe Out we get it. Sometimes the best option is to remove and replace the infested wood. Whether it be a wooden fence, patio, or trim, we can tear it down, and build it right back up to be even better than before!
Fumigations
You’ve seen them before. The dreaded tent. For us, this is the last resort, but it is a service we provide nonetheless! If the termite damage in your home is severe, this is a surefire way to wipe them all out in one go.
